Upgrade To A Solid State Drive

The best thing you can do for your computer, regardless of age, is to upgrade it to a new hard drive technology called Solid State Drive [SSD].

An Solid State Drive is up to 10 times faster than a normal hard drive.

Once you have an SSD installed you will never use a ‘normal’ hard drive again.

Both SSD’s and HDDs (Hard Disk Drives – normal type), do the same job: They boot your system, store your applications, and store your personal files. But each type of storage has its own unique feature set. An SSD-equipped PC will boot in seconds, certainly under a minute. A hard drive requires time to speed up to operating specs, and will continue to be slower than an SSD during normal operation. A PC or Mac with an SSD boots faster, launches apps faster, and has higher overall performance.

You don’t need to know all the ‘ins & outs’ of an SSD. You don’t need to be a mechanic to drive a car.

All you need to understand is it will substantially increase the performance of your computer.

Do you have a Laptop

or a Desktop

If you decide on getting an Solid State Drive and you want to use it in a laptop there are limitations.

Does your laptop have more than one hard drive bay? Most laptops with a screen size of 17″ have two hard drive bays. One is usually empty unless you specifically bought the model that had two hard drives installed.

If you don’t have a laptop with a 17″ screen you won’t have a secondary hard drive bay in most cases. This means if your current hard drive is say, 500GB, you would need to buy a 500GB SSD to match. This can be more expensive but still worth the upgrade I assure you.

If your laptop does have a secondary hard drive bay you could install a smaller SSD, and use that as your Windows operating system drive and program installation drive and have all our personal files and folders on your current hard drive. This gives you the best of both worlds.

A fast SSD for running Windows and all your programs, and your current hard drive to store all your stuff.

If you have a desktop it’s easier to upgrade to an SSD. There really aren’t limitations. As above you get a fast SSD for running Windows and all your programs, and you use your current hard drive to store all your stuff.

I can do this upgrade for you at a set price- with no hidden cost surprises.
